Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the daily routines and general well-being of boarding students.
  • Providing spiritual, emotional, and social guidance to students.
  • Enforcing discipline and promoting Christian values within the boarding environment.
  • Maintaining cleanliness, order, and safety within boarding facilities.
  • Monitoring students’ health, behaviour, and general welfare.
  • Keeping accurate records relating to student health, conduct, attendance, and welfare.
  • Communicating effectively with school management, teachers, and parents regarding student matters.
  • Organising spiritual, educational, and recreational activities for boarders.
  • Supporting students in developing good habits, responsibility, and leadership skills.
  • Responding to emergencies and providing first-line care and support when required.
  • Ensuring compliance with boarding regulations, school policies, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Upholding the vision, mission, and values of God’s Grace Academy in all professional duties.

Requirements

  • Be between 30 and 45 years of age.
  • Be a mature born-again Christian with a strong personal relationship with Christ.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working with students or young people in a boarding, mentorship, healthcare, or educational setting.
  • Demonstrate maturity, compassion, discipline, and a heart for serving young people.
  • Be a firm and fair disciplinarian with strong moral standards.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Have knowledge of child development and basic crisis management.
  • Have a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Be physically fit and able to participate in and support student sporting activities.
  • Be willing to work evenings and weekends as required in a boarding environment.
  • Be able to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
  • Be aligned with and respectful of the Christian ethos and values of God’s Grace Academy.
  • Be willing to undergo background checks and comply with child protection policies.
