Some positions may accept a Certificate in Environmental Health with relevant field experience. Registration with the Medical Council of Malawi or relevant professional body is often required.

What are the typical day-to-day responsibilities of a Disease Control and Surveillance Assistant?

You will conduct disease surveillance by collecting and reporting data on communicable diseases like malaria, cholera, and COVID-19 from health facilities and communities. Hierarchical respect for senior officers and adherence to government protocols are deeply valued in the public health system.
