Job Description for the RTCDT Finance and Administrative Assistant
Reporting to the National Coordinator, the Finance and Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting both the financial and administrative operations of the Root and Tuber Crops Development Trust (RTCDT), while maintaining accurate and organized documentation.

Key Responsibilities
- Data entry: Recording financial transactions into accounting software, including invoices, receipts, and expense reports.
- Accounts payable/receivable: Processing invoices, generating the RTCDT statements, and managing payments.
- Bank reconciliations: Matching bank statements to internal records to ensure accuracy.
- Budget tracking: Monitoring expenses against budgeted amounts and reporting variances.
- Financial reporting: Preparing and distributing financial reports to the donors, board and management, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Expense analysis: Analyzing expenditure patterns and identifying areas for cost reduction.
- Office management: Maintaining office supplies, managing equipment, and coordinating facility maintenance of RTCDT properties.
- Document control: Filing and organizing important documents, contracts, and correspondence.
- Meeting coordination: Scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes of office meetings.
- Communication management: Answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing internal communication.
- Travel arrangements: Booking and making travel arrangements and accommodation for staff.
