Key Responsibilities

  • Compiling, documenting and handling students’ health and welfare issues.
  • Providing appropriate counselling and health-related support to students.
  • Identifying and reporting hostel faults requiring maintenance.
  • Monitoring hostel sanitation, hygiene and general health standards.
  • Reporting non-compliance by students in halls of residence.
  • Reporting security, health, safety and maintenance issues in halls of residence.
  • Liaising with students on health, welfare and other related issues.
  • Promoting health education and healthy living among students.
  • Maintaining appropriate records relating to student health and welfare.
  • Preparing periodic reports on student health, welfare and hostel-related matters.
  • Performing any other duties as may reasonably be assigned by the relevant authorities.

Requirements

  • Be an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Have worked for at least six (6) years in a clinic, with demonstrable counselling experience.
  • Have at least six (6) years of experience working with the youth.
  • Have vast experience in providing Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) services, family planning services, and youth-friendly health services.
  • Demonstrate good communication, counselling, interpersonal and report-writing skills.
  • Have the ability to work effectively with youth and other stakeholders in addressing health, welfare and related concerns.
