The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), an organization entrusted with the assessment, collection, and accounting for tax revenues for the Malawi Government is inviting applications from versatile and suitably qualified candidates to fill the above vacant position(s) in the ICT Division.

To develop, test, document, and maintain high-quality software solutions within an Agile/SCRUM environment, ensuring the timely delivery of assigned user stories in accordance with established technical standards, while contributing to code quality, team collaboration, continuous improvement, and the prompt resolution of technical issues

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing, unit-test and document code for assigned sprint stories in line with team standards.
  • Participating fully in all SCRUM ceremonies within the team.
  • Raising and resolving technical blockers promptly, escalating to the Lead Software Developer as required.
  • Conducting peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members.
  • Maintaining up-to-date technical documentation for all developed components.
  • Applying feedback from code reviews and team leads to continuously improve code quality.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable software-development ability in C# or another object-oriented language; proficiency in .NET is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) and relational database concepts.
  • Familiar with versioning control (Git).
  • Willingness to work within a structured Agile team.
