RECEPTIONIST (3 POSITIONS)
The Receptionist position is within the Front Office Department and reports directly to the Front Office Supervisor. The successful candidates will be deployed across MMK Hotels’ operations, with one (1) position based in Mchinji and two (2) positions based in Lilongwe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome all guests in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner, ensuring efficient check-in and check-out processes while creating a positive first impression of MMK Hotels.
  • Receive, process, and confirm room reservations through telephone, email, online booking platforms, and walk-in enquiries, ensuring all guest information is accurately captured in the hotel management system.
  • Handle guest enquiries, requests, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally, resolving issues within delegated authority and escalating complex matters to the Front Office Supervisor where necessary.
  • Process guest payments, prepare invoices and receipts, reconcile daily cash and electronic transactions, and maintain accurate financial and administrative records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Coordinate closely with the Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food and Beverage, and Security departments to ensure rooms are ready for occupancy and guest requests are attended to efficiently.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organisation, and professional appearance of the reception area while safeguarding confidential guest information and ensuring compliance with hotel policies and service standards.
  • Prepare daily operational reports, maintain accurate occupancy records, support front office administrative activities, and perform any other duties assigned by the Front Office Supervisor to facilitate efficient hotel operations.

Requirements

  • Applicants must possess a minimum of a Certificate in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, Front Office Operations, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Applicants must have at least one (1) year of relevant work experience in a hotel, lodge, or other hospitality establishment.
  • Applicants must demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Applicants must be computer literate and able to use basic office applications.
  • Applicants must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Knowledge of hotel reservation systems or property management systems will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants must be well-groomed, attentive to detail, capable of working under pressure, and willing to work shifts
